The top 5 best blinds for Winter season

Properly selected blinds are an essential element of every modern home. They allow you to regulate the amount of light entering rooms, as well as control the temperature. These functions are especially important in the winter when there is less natural light and the outside temperature drops. The desire to feel better during the shorter winter days prompts us to change the interior design of our homes.

Below is a list of the top 5 roller blinds from our Familyrollo online store. They work well in all four seasons of the year.

1. Roller blinds

Fabric blinds are the best blinds for winter. They are made of one sheet of fabric available in 90 different colours and patterns. The main advantage is that there are fewer gaps for heat to escape through when you close the blind. It also means that when you fully open the blind it lets as much light in as possible. It is a really popular and universal solution.

Our offer includes extremely affordable options, with colour choices varying from classic subtle shades such as Cappuccino or Scandinavian Grey and the seasonal Polar Snow to adventurous warmer colours like Red Cherry or Palermo 06. It is worth paying attention to Thermo block fabrics with additional aluminium coating. The fabric has Thermo insulating qualities and is covered with impregnation prevents it from discolouration.

2. Blackout blinds

To enhance the properties that you look for in blinds for winter, opt for a blackout blind. This is a roller blind made of an opaque sheet of thicker material with rubber coating on the back. Not only will they block out unwanted light they will help lower heat loss and prevent heat build-up.

Blackout blinds do not have to be in a dark colour, either. We offer a variety of blackout blinds in bright colours.  Look at Soft 9303 Blackout 100% or Blackout 305 which can make a room seem lighter. Check also Blackout 308 or Blackout 311 for warmth. As these blinds are typically roller styles they too are most effective when pulled down.

3. Day & Night blinds

These blinds will be perfect for both summer and wintertime. The climate is becoming milder, so it is worth following the high functionality of the product throughout the year. Day and Night roller blinds allow for additional illumination of the room and provide a kind of insulation due to two layers of material. It is worth emphasizing, however, that they have the lowest insulating properties among the types of roller blinds mentioned.

4. Pleated blinds

Pleated blinds feature a 'honeycomb' structure, a series of hexagonal cells each joined at their uppermost point. When your blind is raised these cells are flattened, and when it is shut the cells are open, trapping pockets of air between each section to help insulate and soundproof the home. Fabrics called Orion 551- Orion 555 are is covered with a silver (aluminum) coating on the inside, which reflects the sun’s rays and protects the rooms from heating up. It also stops cold air. There are no holes and cords on the fabric.
It is worth mentioning that the honeycomb pleats on the side of the glass are bright, regardless of the selected shade from the inside. Thanks to this, all the pleats look the same outside and the facade of the building is decorated with pleats in the same style and colour. In our online store, you can find them under the name Orion 501-Orion 512.

5. Wooden blinds

Familyrollo wooden blinds can also be efficient at helping to keep your rooms warm. As this type of window blind is operated by tilting and closing the slats they will provide some insulation when the slats are open and more so when completely closed. Their natural look gives many possibilities to complement your home style. Wooden blinds can bring a rustic, classic or modern feel to a common space. Especially when your room is equipped with a fireplace and cosy decorations like rugs and pillows.

It is worth considering our expectations for the product before buying. Careful examination of the available types of blinds and types of fabrics will allow you to be sure of the right choice when shopping in our Familyrollo online store. Then you will enjoy its design and functionality with peace in mind.
