What are you looking for?
Those are fashionable and practical covers that perfectly match windows with non-standard shapes. We would like to share with you how to care for them, so you will enjoy perfectly clean fabrics for many years.
Pleated blinds, like other window covers, collect dust and they need regular cleaning. However, this fabric (polyester) does not absorb dust as quickly as traditional window curtains, you only need to dust the pleated blinds once a week. A soft brush attached to the vacuum cleaner will do the job great. We can also use a cloth (designed to wipe the dust from furniture) or a dust brush. Most of the dust will accumulate at the bottom moldings and on the folds of the fabric. Regular cleaning will retain the original color for a long time and the pleated blinds will look brand new for many years.
Pleats for window blinds are made of impregnated fabrics that can be washed without any problem. If the fabric is accidentally stained or soiled, dry cleaning may not be sufficient. In this case, please remove the blinds and wash them by hand.
If you would like to dismantle the pleats start with unhooking the lower hooks. Set the cover in the closed position (about 15-20 cm from the bottom of the window), then squeeze the 2 profiles and slide the bottom mounting bracket up (the cable should not be tensioned). This method must be repeated for the next lower fastening catch and the upper hook.
Window pleats should be washed by hand, at 30 degrees C. Use a mild detergent intended for polyester fabrics (liquid soap will also work fine). Fill in the basin with water and appropriate detergent. First, soak the fabric for about 15 minutes, this will initially get rid of the general dirt. Gently hand wash it and try not to bend it. Do not rub or scrub it with a brush, as this will destroy the pleats.
When the fabric is clean, rinse it thoroughly. A convenient way is to pour water from the showerhead over the fabric (from both sides). Do not use hot water for rinsing (up to 30 degrees C). Washed blind should be squeezed out from an excessive amount of water. To do this, simply squeeze 2 aluminum profiles (then remove excess water from the cover). For thicker fabrics, this process should be repeated several times, so the fabric will dry out quicker. Very dirty blinds (e.g. splashed with kitchen grease) should be cleaned by a professional cleaner. Some dry cleaning companies in Poland use a reliable ultrasonic method for cleaning fabrics.
The best way to dry out pleated blinds is to place them back on the window. Once again squeeze out excess of the amount of water, put the cover on the window (install from the upper handles). It is important not to tangle the strings when installing the blind. Then, leave the blind in the closed position from 12 (thinner fabrics) up to 24 hours (thicker fabrics). This method of drying will maintain the effect of pleated fabric. Do not iron the pleats as it will burn the fabric.
