The fabric used for the production of roller blinds is covered with a special impregnation that provides stiffness and protects against the infiltration of dust and dirt into the structure of the fabric. Despite this, the fabric of the blind can get dusty over time, and the whole area may fade.
The first stage is to remove dust from the fabric and other elements of the blind. This can be done with a vacuum cleaner using a bristle nozzle or a soft brush to collect dust. After vacuuming, look for visible dirt on the fabric. Try to remove it with a small sponge used in the kitchen and soap or a mild detergent like dishwashing liquid. Slightly wipe the blind fabric with a slightly damp sponge, drained from water. Keep in mind that the fabric has impregnation and you need to scrub gently to remove dirt from the fabric rather than the impregnation.
Clean the blind fabric in the same way as described above, while the PVC cassette and the guides should be wiped with a damp cloth moistened with soap or detergent. Stubborn dirt can be removed from the cartridge and guides with extraction gasoline or Cif cleaning milk.
Mainly in the spring-summer season, black spots appear after insects on our window glass and blinds. They can be removed with a sponge and soap, using active foam in the same way as removing other dirt. In the case of marks from insects, it is better to gently soak the fabric and wait a few minutes until the marks soften.
Regular vacuuming e.g. once every two weeks. Stronger marks should be removed as soon as possible preferably immediately after its creation. The frequency of cleaning blinds is an individual matter, depending on the degree of use, dustiness, smog, and fabric color.
