Window blinds - how to choose?
Office blinds are a good investment, they can significantly reduce the costs of operating air conditioning. In the winter, however, they insulate the room against the cold transmitted by the window glass. They provide privacy at work, decorate the place and protect against the sunlight.
1. Colour and pattern
The roller blind should protect against light and decorate the interior. It is worth remembering that light colours let in even 50% more light than dark colours. Dark blinds are perfect for the bedroom, while light ones or those made of translucent fabrics are better for the living room or kitchen.
2. Light transmission
Adjusting the light supply is the main task of window blinds. We should choose their type, guided by the degree of insolation of the interior. Living on the ground floor, we don't want anyone looking into the windows. It is then worth choosing 100% blackout blinds. Blinds with rubberized fabric ensure the highest degree of blackout. If we choose blinds made of transparent fabrics, we will get a subtle gently diffused light.
3. Type of assembly
Free-hanging blinds are usually mounted on the lintel above the window recess or to the ceiling. Particular attention should be paid to make the lintel high enough that the fabric in the rolled-up blind does not hit the window sash. An alternative to this solution is mini roller blinds or roller blinds in PVC cassettes mounted on a single-window sash. Most of them do not need to be screwed, which is why they are becoming more and more popular.
