What are you looking for?
There are many design styles that most people may not even be aware of. One style worth mentioning is hampton. It is a style that is sure to appeal to those who appreciate the combination of naturalness and freedom with luxury and elegance. It is associated - and rightly so - with summer cottages on the beach, straight from the east coast of the United States. What curtains for hampton style? What about other accessories?
The hampton style has its roots in the United States - its name comes from the seaside town of Hampton Bays, located on Long Island. It is a place where Americans and foreign tourists flock to, wanting to enjoy the holiday time, the sunny weather, the beaches, the swimming in the sea. Hampton Bays is home to many elegant villas - some of which have been used as sets in famous films. Their interiors share several similar features that make up what we refer to as the Hampton style. We are referring to:
Decoration is a key influence on the look of hampton-style rooms.
Hampton style interiors are based on natural colours, reminiscent of the sea, beach and sunny holidays. A muted wall colour scheme is therefore advisable - broken white, sand and wood colours, greys. The neutral colour palette must blend in with the spaciousness. The hampton style is reminiscent of New York villas, where freshness, luxury and elegance were all important. Rooms with a small footprint are not suited to it.
Interior designers recommend experimenting with hampton colours - mainly different shades of blue, from light blue to dark blue. Importantly, this shade will not work on the walls, but only on decorative elements (curtains and drapes, cushions, vases, tableware, blankets).

Curtains and drapes are a particular element of hampton style décor. No wonder - great importance is attached here to the play of light, windows and window decorations. If you want to create an atmospheric hampton interior, don't underestimate the curtains. Wondering how to refresh your home with hampton-style curtains?
Interior designers and architects particularly recommend curtains in light, non-darkening materials. The base colours of hampton style curtains should stand out against muted, soft, bleached walls - so red, navy blue, emerald, turquoise, coral. Examples of ideal curtains for hampton style are - in atmospheric shades of blue - the delicate velvet curtain on Velvet 30 tape, the navy blue velour curtain on Velvet 23 tape or the patterned velour curtain on Velvet 116 tape.
It is important that they are not made of very thick textiles (this could overwhelm the interior). Interestingly, hampton-style curtains don't have to be plain and uniform. Patterned curtains, e.g. with stripes or dots, are also interesting. Ideally, they should relate to other decorative elements in the room. For example, if the room is styled in a 'nautical' style, the curtains should also be like this.
However, lovers of classic, subdued arrangements need not worry. The hampton style is characterised by the fact that it can be interpreted in many different ways. Therefore, it will not be a mistake to keep a room in the same colour scheme - for example white, ecru, beige or a sandy shade.
You already know the answer to the question "which curtains for hampton style". But that's not all. When deciding on a hampton style interior, other decorations should not be neglected. However, it is important that the positioning and colouring of the accessories chosen are carefully considered. In the hampton style, the presence of superfluous decorative elements is not advisable. "Overkill" is definitely not its middle name.
Interior designers recommend complementing the subdued whole with a few larger decorations, e.g. an elegant vase, a large lamp, and cushions in the same material as the curtains. Other textiles worth considering are runners, bedspreads and plaids. These can take on the function of distinctive or climate-controlled colour accents.
Wicker baskets or jute potholders are an interesting addition. In hampton-style villas, the walls are decorated with aesthetically pleasing graphics and photographs with a maritime theme.
Hampton-style windows usually have a light frame (shades of white, grey). Their frame is particularly noticeable when - instead of curtains and blinds, possibly as a complement - you match them with blinds and shutters. Interior designers and architects are unanimous - wooden or aluminium blinds go well with the hampton style.
