There are many design styles that most people may not even be aware of. One style worth mentioning is hampton. It is a style that is sure to appeal to those who appreciate the combination of naturalness and freedom with luxury and elegance. It is associated - and rightly so - with summer cottages on the beach, straight from the east coast of the United States. What curtains for hampton style? What about other accessories?

The hampton style has its roots in the United States - its name comes from the seaside town of Hampton Bays, located on Long Island. It is a place where Americans and foreign tourists flock to, wanting to enjoy the holiday time, the sunny weather, the beaches, the swimming in the sea. Hampton Bays is home to many elegant villas - some of which have been used as sets in famous films. Their interiors share several similar features that make up what we refer to as the Hampton style. We are referring to:
- bright, spacious rooms (walls dominated by ecru, white, beige),
- dispense with heavy velour curtains - in favour of lightweight roller blinds, voile curtains,
- the presence of coastal additives.
Decoration is a key influence on the look of hampton-style rooms.
What colour scheme for hampton style?
Hampton style interiors are based on natural colours, reminiscent of the sea, beach and sunny holidays. A muted wall colour scheme is therefore advisable - broken white, sand and wood colours, greys. The neutral colour palette must blend in with the spaciousness. The hampton style is reminiscent of New York villas, where freshness, luxury and elegance were all important. The base colours of hampton style curtains should stand out against muted, soft, bleached walls - so red, navy blue, emerald, turquoise, coral.
