What's more, they are available in many variants to choose from. In the shops, you will find both classic rectangular and square models, as well as versions to fit roof windows and those in non-standard shapes. From the article: Roller blinds or pleated blinds? Pleated blinds need regular cleaning - especially if you want them to look like new for years to come. They are worth looking after for at least a couple of reasons:
Wondering how to clean your window pleats? Above all, do it gently! Pay special attention to dirt accumulated on the folds of the fabric and the lower slats, as this is usually where most of it is.
Regularity is equally important, so remove dust from spots regularly, for example with a soft brush fitted to the end of a hoover or a broom - ideally every 2-3 weeks or so. This will make the job go more smoothly and avoid larger stains. And if they do appear, try to remove them by gently rubbing the pleats with a slightly damp cloth.
First of all, remember that pleated blinds should not be washed in the washing machine - put in the drum, subjected to heat and spinning, they are likely to get damaged. For the same reason, when washing them, refrain from using strong detergents and don't rub the fabric with a sharp sponge - gently cleaning the pleats is a much better idea. Just as importantly, do not iron these types of window coverings with an iron, and wash models made from treated fabrics a maximum of once a year.
The best method of washing window pleats is to do it by hand, for example in the bath or shower cubicle.
